Flipping through a new crochet book as an adult is like flipping through a toy catalog as a kid – so many options that catch the eye and generate excitement. Perusing Home Decoration in Crochet by Tanya Eberhardt is no exception. From the Corner to Corner Baby Blanket to the Fruity Egg Cozies, there are patterns to fill every corner of your home with beautifully crocheted projects.
Home Decoration in Crochet includes patterns for blankets, throw pillows, potholders, jar covers, and even a teapot cover. All of the patterns have practical uses, and would add a beautiful handmade touch to any home. Some of my favorites include the Geometric Popcorn Cushion Cover and Corner to Corner Baby Blanket, because they appeal to my preference for clean, modern design.
Tanya’s patterns are easy to read, and there are also charts for the more visually inclined. As with all of the books published by Tuva that I’ve had the opportunity to review, the photography is stunning, and the styling accentuates the beauty of the projects.
I have more throw pillows than I will ever need in this lifetime, and everyone in my cohort has already had babies, so I have little need for baby blankets. My eye was drawn instead to the Spiral Coasters as a practical and stylish pattern to try. They would make the perfect housewarming or hostess gift for just about anyone.
As I said earlier, the pattern was easy to follow, and I worked these up in no time. I’ve already gifted them to a neighbor and am eager to make another set to have on hand. One can never have too many coasters!

I think potholders and jar covers would be the best things to add colour to my home. I have lots of plants whose pots are the same old brown and some colour would really freshen it up.
