Wedding Day Crochet Flower Pattern

My sister is getting married in a couple of months, and I’ve been tasked with creating crochet flowers to use as decorations for her bridal shower. Because I need to make them in bulk, I decided to go with a very simple, two-round design. I experimented with a few different possibilities before landing on this version, which I’m calling the Wedding Day Crochet Flower.

Being the yarn hoarder that I am, I had ample shades of purple (one of the wedding colors) to use to hook up these simple crocheted flowers. I’ve used a mix of Scheepjes Catona and Schachenmayr Catania that I had on hand.

Here’s the pattern! It’s written in standard US crochet terms.

You can find a comprehensive stitch guide here.

Ch: chain
Dc: double crochet
Sc: single crochet
Sl st: slip stitch
Sp: space
St: stitch

Instructions:

Round 1: With A, into magic ring, ch1 (does not count as st), [1sc, ch5] 6 times. Join with sl st to 1st sc. Fasten off A. (6 sc, 6 ch5 sp)

Round 2: Join color B with a sl st in any ch5 sp. Ch1 (does not count as st), *[1sc, 4dc, ch1, 4dc, 1sc] in ch5 sp (makes one petal), bring yarn to front of work, sl st into 1st sc of petal, ch1* Repeat from * to * around. Join with sl st to 1st sc. Fasten off B and weave in ends. (12 sc, 48 dc, 12 ch1, 6 sl st)

You will need to pull the petals into the proper shape. You may also notice from the photographs that I have left longer ends of the center color. This is so the flowers can be tied around bundles of silverware for the shower, and later, for sewing the flowers as embellishments if desired.

It’s time for me to get back to my little flower making factory! Hope you have fun with these sweet little crochet flowers. And as always, tag your work with #mobiusgirlcrochet on Instagram so I can see your beautiful work!
